🚴 AVIS Bike Tour 2025

“13 Stages, 13 Words, 13 Stories”: is the theme of the AVIS Bike Tour 2025, a sporting, promotional, and volunteering initiative that symbolically unites Italy and the Adriatic coast, from Santa Maria di Leuca to Trieste, with a strong appeal for blood and plasma donation and global peace.

The protagonist of the journey, which runs from 6th to 21st December to 2025, is Paolo Franceschini, riding his mountain bike. Franceschini is an artist and performer who combines his sporting commitment with his art, concluding each stage with his “comic show” or “cabaret show” (“Riso fa buon sangue”) to spread the values of donation and global peace through laughter and stories.

The crucial stage: Venice – Bibione

The twelfth stage, scheduled for 20th December 2025, marks the penultimate, and intense, day of the tour. The route starts from Venice/Mestre and finishes in Bibione, covering approximately 110 km through the evocative Venetian Lagoon.

🗺️ A journey between lagoons, rivers, and sea

Leaving the magic of Venice behind, the route winds northeast through a unique territory: the Venetian Lagoon, a mosaic of canals, salt marshes, and islets. The mountain bike adventure becomes thrilling along dirt embankments and well-trodden paths, offering the peace of a natural landscape with extraordinary biodiversity.

The locations crossed include:

• Mestre: Leaving the Venetian mainland on green cycle paths.
• Cavallino-Treporti: Cycling among salt marshes and canals, a lagoon environment frequented by herons, flamingos, and cormorants.
• Caorle: A picturesque town whose colourful historical centre resembles a Venetian village, before moving towards the lagoon of Bibione and the Tagliamento river on dirt roads that border wetlands rich in fauna.

🤝 The guiding word: HOPE (SPERANZA)

The twelfth stage is dedicated to the keyword “HOPE” (SPERANZA). The focus of the day is deeply emotional, with the atmosphere charged as the end draws near:

• Morning: Paolo meets the parents of a sick child, who talk about the “hope” infused by donors.
• Afternoon: The connection is direct and powerful: every bag of donated blood is a unit of hope.
• Evening: The evening show will be emotional, acting as a transition towards the final arrival.

⚓ The arrival in Bibione: sport, nature, and peace

The arrival in Bibione, scheduled at 3:00 pm in Piazza Fontana, is suggestive. The final ride takes place along the cycle path that cuts through fragrant pine forests and sandy dunes, leading to the lighthouse, a symbol of a territory that merges sea and pristine nature. This arrival perfectly celebrates the spirit of AVIS Bike Tour 2025.

In the evening, the community is invited to attend Paolo Franceschini’s cabaret show, titled “Riso fa buon sangue” (laughter makes good blood), which will be held at 9 pm at the Theatre of Savoy Beach Hotel & Thermal SPA (Corso Europa, 51). Admission is free.
