On Sunday, 22nd September 2019, everyone riding the bike from the Lighthouse of Punta Sabbioni, in Cavallino-Treporti, to the Lighthouse of Punta Tagliamento, in Bibione, on occasion of “Faro to Faro 2019” – the Gravel Race of the Upper Adriatic.
It is a bicycle ride along the Ciclovia del Mare (the Eurovelo 8), with a free French start from 8 to 9:30 am, running along river banks, reclaimed dirt roads and lagoons.
The event, unique in its kind, is suitable for everyone, from sports enthusiasts to families, to lovers of the outdoor life preferably with gravel bicycles and mountain bikes, even with assisted pedaling. The route has different lengths:
- 140 km for the most trained
- 80 km for medium-distance bikers
- 45 km for simple enthusiasts
And you can choose the mileage, based on the point of entry:
- Cavallino
- Jesolo
- Caorle,
which, together with Eraclea and Bibione, are the places crossed by this particular event and in which it will also be possible to stop, take a picture and learn about the place itself. The tourist component prevails, but those who want to compete can still do it: against themselves, to finish the track within the time limit.
Registration is limited to a maximum of 500 participants, who will be guaranteed special services:
- Transfer (on arrival or departure) with an ATVO bus equipped with a bicycle cart
- Supervision, by the organization’s staff, at the busiest crossroads (remember, however, that the route will not be closed to traffic)
- Radio link and constant monitoring by the organization along the entire route
- Granted medical assistance for the whole duration of the ride.
The event is organized by the U.C. Basso Piave, and is promoted and financed by Venezia e Lagune Bike, with the coordination of Adria Bike Hotels and the technical support of ATVO. With the sponsorship of Veneto Region, the event has the joint contribution of the involved Municipalities: Cavallino Treporti, Jesolo, Eraclea, Caorle and San Michele al Tagliamento.
