Every year the beach of Bibione at the end of September becomes seat of the Austrian National Championship of Beach Ultimate Frisbee® that this year is named BöstMx (Staatsmeisterschaft Beach Mixed 2018). The dates of the 2018 edition are:
- Saturday, 29th September
- Sunday, 30th September.
The fields will be prepared near “Un Nuovo Posto al Sole” (a New Place in the Sun).
Ultimate is the team sport played with a Flying Disc (Frisbee®). The standard Ultimate is played 7vs7 on a grass field of 100x37mt; the beach Ultimate is the ‘sandy’ version of the sport played 5vs5 on a 75x25mt field.
This particular championship, the BöstMx, has only one division: the CO-ED division, which is the mixed division of this discipline with 3 men and 2 women (or 2 men and 3 women) on the field. This year 21 teams are expected for a total of more than 300 players.
Program of 2018 edition:
- 28th September: arrival of athletes and teams; in the evening meeting and welcome.
- 29th September:
- from 9:30 am to 6 pm: pools matches.
- From 1 to 1:30 pm: lunch break.
- Free evening.
- 30th September:
- From 9 am to 3 pm: pools and ranking matches.
- from 1:30 to 2 pm: lunch break
- 3 pm: Final BöstMx
- 4 pm: award ceremony and greetings.
The event is coming this year to its 7th edition.
Hundreds boys and girls from all over Austria give themselves appointment every year in Bibione where they can practice Ultimate but also appreciate the Italian hospitality and enjoy the fascinating atmosphere of the beach but also visit the surroundings.
The Austrian Federation organizes the event, in collaboration with the Frisbee Team Winona Raiders, the Sports Association href=”http://www.bb-sea.com/”>BB-SEA, the Agency Abaviaggi, the href=”https://www.facebook.com/sanmichelealtagliamento/”>City of Bibione and the Bibione Spiaggia.
