From 21st to 24th June in the city of San Daniele del Friuli (Ud) there will be the food-and-wine event Aria di Festa, where in particular they will celebrate the renowned Prosciutto di San Daniele. The climate of this territory, and in particular its air, give a unique and unmistakable taste to the Prosciutto di San Daniele, which is known all over the world.
The product has since 1970 the Designation of Origin by the Italian State and in 1996 it was recognized by the European Union as a Protected Denomination of Origin – PDO. This is because its unique and unrepeatable characteristics are due to the particular geographic environment, which includes natural and human factors. In San Daniele, located in a hilly area in the centre of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the climate is perfect for the seasoning of the prosciutto: here the breezes of the Adriatic Sea meet those of the Alps, the morainic hills mitigate the humidity and the river Tagliamento regulates the temperature.
What is Aria di Festa: it is a four-day fest dedicated to the Prosciutto di San Daniele and to the best products of the Friulian tradition with cutting lessons, guided tastings, didactic workshops and cooking classes. But not only: it is also music, sport and literature with a program full of meetings and the presence of chefs, artists and celebrities that know this land, love it and of which they will speak with astonishing affection:

Godmother of the 2019 edition is Daniela Ferolla, TV host of “Linea Verde” and face of RaiUno, who will be present for the inauguration on Friday 21st June, at 7:00 pm, on the Dome Square in San Daniele del Friuli.
But Aria di Festa is also an event for children: in fact it will be set up an area specially dedicated to families with games, activities, charity lottery, park with inflatables and creative laboratories, without forgetting the snack time with the exceptional protagonist: the prosciutto di San Daniele.
Beyond all this, even ten ham factories will open their doors to visitors and will accompany them in guided tours and tastings, offering the possibility to come into direct contact with the places where this excellence of Made in Italy is produced.
Finally, they will propose some tourist itineraries to discover this wonderful territory, among which a thrilling canyoning in Val d’Arzino and the rafting on Tagliamento river.
